upgraded to Windows XP from a previous version of the Window
operating system such as Windows 98, 98SE, Windows 2000 or Window

PLEASE VERIFY THAT YOUR HP PRECISIONSCAN SOFTWARE WAS LOADED AN
RUNNING PROPERLY PRIOR TO UPGRADING TO WINDOWS XP. If it was no
loaded, you will have to uninstall the Windows XP upgrade an
reinstall the scanner software before running the Windows X
upgrade. After you have accomplished that, download and install th
HP PrecisionScan software update. If this describes your situation
skip to Step 2.
If you purchased a new computer with Windows XP pre-installed o
have completely removed your previous version of a Window
operating system and have loaded the full version of the Windows X
operating system THIS DOWNLOAD IS NOT FOR YOU! This upgrade is onl
for those who have upgraded the operating system from a previou
version of Windows without completely removing that version.
The full HP PrecisionScan software for your HP ScanJet scanne
is not yet available. HP suggests using Windows XP - WIA softwar
driver that is built into Window XP until the HP PrecisionSca
software for Windows XP is available for downloading or orderin
from this Web site. The HP PrecisionScan software for Windows X
will be posted here,
